Level I (10 Square Feet or Less)

Level II (10 – 30 Square Feet)
Molds of this size would have taken up almost the entire ceiling or a big part of the walls. But it does not necessarily mean it has already spread out the entire room. You can still do the mold remediation yourself since the molds are contained in one area. Just make sure you are completely protected. See to it you are able to prepare the entire room as well.
Level III (30 – 100 Square Feet)
If the infestation is already this big, it is wise to leave it to the hands of the experts. The mold is already in the entire room and there a lot of preparation to be done to ensure safety and success of the process. Better protective gear is needed for an infestation this big.
Level IV (Areas Larger than 100 Square Feet)
If, after a mold inspection, the inspector tells you in their report that the mold has already contaminated a very large area, this is a heavy mold infestation. The process would take longer, which means they need to use HEPA (High-Efficiency Particle Absorbing) respirators.
